The National Council of Governor of Education announced on Friday that unless the Japanese government withdraws the decision to release contaminated water from Fukushima nuclear power plant to the sea, it would completely ban the use of Japanese seafood in school meals.

The council adopted a statement on the day that "if the Japanese government enforces discharge of radioactive water contaminated water, it will completely ban the use of Japanese seafood in school meals to protect the safety of the children."

The statement also included the intention to expand the inspection of harmful substances such as radioactive substances of food ingredients, and to produce educational materials and training on the basis of the Japanese government's anti-ecological decisions.

“The marine ecosystem, which is the source of life and a common asset of mankind, must not be destroyed by radioactive water.” “The Japanese government must recognize that its selfish judgment will become a boomerang resulting in a global disaster and will eventually return to them as well."
